In Hannover, filming has begun on the “Nordlichter” feature film “Superbuhei“. The feature film debut of Josef Brandl is based on the novel of the same name by Sven Amtsberg, which already inspired Brandl’s short film of the same name – awarded the Short Tiger Award 2024. Oliver Korittke takes on the dual role of the brothers Jesse and Aaron Bronske. Starring alongside him are Silke Bodenbender, Jan Georg Schütte, and Leni Rabbel.

In terms of content, “Superbuhei” revolves around Jesse, the operator of the bleak supermarket pub “Klaus Meine” in Hannover-Langenhagen, whose regular customers remain suspended between melancholy and continuous intoxication. The fragile daily routine begins to falter when modernization plans emerge – and Jesse increasingly slips into paranoia.

A tongue-in-cheek local flavor is provided by the participation of “Scorpions” singer Klaus Meine as a guest star. “Superbuhei” is produced by Janina Sara Hennemann and Jan Philip Lange (Junifilm). The project is funded as part of the Nordlichter talent program by NDR, nordmedia, MOIN Filmförderung, and the DFFF. The theatrical release is planned for late 2026.
